A new mobile app from PPG’s aerospace business provides easy and quick access to information about its products and services as well as trade show participation. The PPG Aerospace app is a one-stop guide to the business’s transparencies, coatings, sealants, packaging and application systems, transparent armor, and chemical-management services, with links to the aerospace website and online technical data and material safety data sheets. It includes a map of PPG’s global aerospace sites with contact details for product and purchasing information, a form to submit questions and a value listing describing how PPG products provide innovative solutions. Information about PPG products and exhibits at trade shows can be accessed with a quick-response code reader. According to Cindy Bandula-Yates, PPG senior marketing specialist for aerospace, the mobile app was created to enhance communications with customers and other key audiences. “Customers said they wanted more product information, so we designed the PPG Aerospace mobile app as a convenient way to communicate with them and other users,” Bandula-Yates said. “We created an infrastructure that enables us to easily update and expand resources, so once users download the app, they can automatically take advantage of new features.” The PPG Aerospace app was tested during a recent customer technology symposium, Bandula-Yates said, with personalized schedules, downloadable presentations and links to information on all displays for registered users. “Customers participated in interactive polling that proved to be a game changer by enabling us to share information in real time and benefit from immediate feedback,” she added. The free PPG Aerospace app can be downloaded in the APPLE ITUNES STORE online store, BLACKBERRY® WORLD® storefront and GOOGLE PLAY™ store. The PPG Aerospace app also can be viewed online at bit.ly/ppg-app. Singapore Airshow attendees can learn more about the PPG Aerospace mobile app at PPG display booth D79. The Singapore Airshow takes place Feb. 16-21 at Changi Exhibition Centre. PPG Aerospace mobile app users can access the QR code reader for details about PPG’s exhibit.
